Super Value
Anonymous Oct 25, 2008
This hotel was a super value for the money, with great rooms and located just across the street from the best Waikiki ... beaches. The only downside to the hotel was the lack of an inexpensive place to eat, but with a half dozen medium-priced cafes and a McDonald's within half a block, this deficiency was not significant.
Beaches, cafes, zoo, surfing, swimming, outrigger canoe.

The Beach Hotel is well located, actually right in front of the beach, however the the hotel nickel & dime for amenites,eg. ... The room was a good size though (we did upgrade to a beach view w/ balcony). All in all i would tell people where i stayed but if they could afford to pay a little more on their hotel, that would be the best option.
Everything is close, places to eat, bars, shops etc..

The Pacific Beach Hotel is in a great location, just cross the street and you are on Waikiki Beach, one min. walk from there ... and you are at the Duke Kahanamoku Statue, great place for photos and to let your friends back home see you on the Live Web Cam facing the statue. McD's across the street for value or Dine inside Pacific Beach Hotel's Restaurant w/Three floor Sea Aquarium, beautiful, romantic, and great food!!!
Very nice clubs, many different genres, I loved Zanzabar inside the Waikiki Trade Center, R&B/Hip-Hop but all the others I went to were great, crazy fun, and friendly.

The Pacific Beach Hotel was a great hotel for the price we paid. The staff was excellent and accomadated our every need. ... The rooms might need to be somewhat updated but, they were still comfortable. It is very conveniently located right across from Waikiki Beach. Everything you need is within walking distance. The restaurants were excellent!
The hotel has a great restaurant with a three-story aquarium. The food is great and I would highly recommend the breakfast buffet! A little pricey, but definitely worth every penny! Also, there are some excellent restaurants just a few block away!

great room with no notice vacancy
Alice, Dover, OH Jul 26, 2008
This is a great hotel experience from the beginning to the end. What started as a one day stay expanded to five days and ... worth every dollar. I started with a one-day stay thinking that if the hotel was not as nice as I had hoped that I would find another one. The hotel was beautiful, from the lobby to the room. Dining in was fanastic, a buffet to please anyone. The tour center was staffed by knowledgeable local people who knew who to call for reservations on any of the islands and what each tour did and didn't have. My room was upgraded when I arrived and I stayed in a room with views of the ocean, mountains and city...just beautiful.
By staying in this hotel, you can walk across the street to the beach, stoll down the street for the finest shopping ever, and enjoy the street entertainers or night clubs or numerous resturants. My favorite brunch was at the Treetop Cafe in the International Marketplace.

Pacific Beach is in an excellent location. It is a step away from the beach, eating and shopping. The staff was extremely ... friendly and helpful. However, the room was a bit run down with horrible stains in the carpet and the hotel could use about 5 more elevators. There was always a wait for the elevators. Great price though for the location!
Great shopping, could spend hours!

The Center of Paradise
Arthur, Houston Jul 1, 2008
This was my fifth trip to Waikiki, and my first time at the Pacific Beach, and I will return to both many times! This hotel ... is great! On first walking in, the 3 story aquarium takes your breath away! At check in I actually felt like I was expected. The room was huge - and I have paid more for rooms half in size at some the of better hotels in Waikiki. The 2 major restaurants are a tad pricey, yet right outside the door are both a McDonalds and Paradise Cheesberger [the perfect breakfast spot. But the best feature of the Pacific Beach is the location: it feels like the geographic center of Waikiki. Walk out the front door, and the view is everything you come to Hawaii for. And the beach is literally 12 steps away! To your right are hotels, restaurants, ABC stores and the International Market Place. To your left is 24 Hour Fitness, St. Augustine's Catholic Church, ABC stores, more restaurants, the Park [for all you joggers], and the Zoo. I am recommending this hotel to all my friends. Finally, my search for a Waikiki hotel is over.
Paradise Cheesberger, and Wolfgang Puck Express are next door. On Kuhio Ave is a buffet style restaurant, open for a $7 breakfast and an $11 dinner. Down Kuhio you will find a little hole in the wall spot called the Sea Side where you can get a $3 breakfast and a $10 sirloin in the evenings. It's not pretty, but it's good basic food.

Excellent choice for short getaway!
Linda, Ocean View Jun 29, 2008
The Pacific Beach Hotel is in a great location, allowing you to enjoy all in Waikiki. A car rental is not necessary ... unless you want to see the North shore or other areas of the island outside of Waikiki. There are many restaurants + shops available in the hotel that anyone would enjoy. Huge aquarium tank in two of the hotel restaurants making meals fun for people of all types + ages. The rooms are small but the bed was very comfortable, good shower, + clean room + bathroom. We had a nice ocean view from our balcony. We would stay here again. We were very happy with everything at this hotel.

This was my first visit to Hawaii and the Hotel made sure I had all the information on sites to see and local information I ... needed. The rooms were very nice and was located directly across the beach. We had a wonderful view of Diamond Head and the ocean. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. The breakfast bar was outstanding and always hot.

Touristy but clean
Anonymous, New York Jun 11, 2008
This hotel is very basic, our room had no decorations at all and few products but was very large. We had a partial ocean ... view room and the view was great and had a large balcony. Location is great - it's right in the middle of all the action. I had to wear ear plugs at night because the door to the hallways didn't prevent noise from coming in but otherwise it was a totally fine stay. The buffet is outrageously expensive (27 pp) and you are charged for use of the gym. The pool is microscopic but the ocean is across the street so there is no real need for a pool. Parking was $15/day which was reasonable for the area. It is not a luxurious hotel by any means, but totally serviceable and clean.

The staff was very accommadating, our luggage was late getting in, then was delivered to the hotel, since it was very late at ... night we asked them to bring it up in the morning. They took care of our lugggage and had a bell hop at our door right on time the next morning. The consignees were very helpful with planning our daily activities. The daily breakfast buffet was just wonderful! The room was very clean and the arrangement was good. The location was great and the oceanfront room had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great value for the money
Catherine, Wilmington May 26, 2008
We stayed at Pacific beach the end of May 2008 for our honeymoon. This hotel is a great value for the money. The free daily ... buffet breakfast which you can get in both of their restaurants is very good, although I believe this is seasonal. The weather was great, averaged about 85. Temps rarely go above 90 degrees any time of the year. The beach was right across the street. There is a really good hamburger rest a block away called Paradise Hamburgers (they serve other sandwiches also). The location is excellent. The Pacific Beach is in the heart of everything. Lots of shops and restaurants and some bars. It is 10 min walk to the Int'l Marketplace, a really nice place to shop. They bargain there. Only 5-10 min to the zoo. Waikiki is a great place for walking if you like that. Many of the tour buses stop at Pacific Beach. The staff are very nice! Housekeeping was excellent. The only drawbacks we saw were the pool is pretty small (mostly a kiddie pool) and there were a couple of stains in the carpet. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely go back!! Waikiki is a great place to stay. Everyone is so friendly. It is like a city within paradise. As in any city you must be careful with personal belongings.
Cheesecake Factory and Red Lobster in area also. ABC stores on every block are a little expensive but great for conveniences like water, milk, coffee, souveniers. If you spend $100 in them you get a free Hawaiian coffee mug or calendar.

Great place - but noisy!!!
Sandra, Canton/Akron, OH May 3, 2008
This was our second visit to this hotel in the last 5 years. The first time was absolutely wonderful. This time our room ... wasn't as good - the carpeting really, really needs replaced in the tower rooms. Everything else was pretty ok. Some of the workers were on strike - chanting and banging drums and yelling, but the hotel was very gracious and gave us free dinner buffet tickets for serveral nights. I would probably stay there again, but not in the tower rooms - unless they change the carpeting. It's so awesome being right there by Wakiki beach.

The Society of Seven show at the Outrigger was one of the best we've ever seen. Totally great!! There's a place very close to the hotel called Tours for Less that is just awesome for booking activities at a good price. The opposite corner from the Tour place is a really great place to have breakfast for 3.99.

The Pacific Beach Hotel is a very comfortable hotel to stay in. The rooms are pretty spacious for a family. They have a great ... dining room in the hotel that has a HUGE aquarium with alot of sea life, including sharks that swim around while you dine. Great for kids and grownups alike to enjoy without going into the water. From the front desk personal upon check-in to the valet attendants...they are very professional, accomodating and best of all they are a group of employees with great personalities! They have the ALOHA spirit which is hard to find in these stressful and difficult times. Please tell the hotel employees know that their services are greatly appreciated....
Beautiful gigantic aquarium (2 or 3 stories tall) next to the lobby area with a multitude of sea life including sharks!
