Small and Comfortable, Beach Access
Anonymous Oct 16, 2008
The fact that the hotel is across from Waikiki Beach, is a definite plus and the time spent in a small room with a ... impressive view of the ocean, becomes a more pleasant and comfortable vacation. The location of the hotel and walking distance to activities around the beach becomes a definite good time.

Excellent location
David, Gilbert Sep 1, 2008
The ResortQuest Joy Waikiki Hotel was an excellent choice for our first stay in Hawaii. The location is excellent and a ... short walk to the beaches, shopping, and eating places. We enjoyed the morning continental breakfast and the friendliness of the staff. While ResortQuest Joy is not the newest or largest hotel in the area, it provides a more leisurely and homey atmosphere, perfect for relaxing in the somewhat hectic pace of Waikiki. We would certainly return to this hotel when/if we get a chance to again visit Oahu. A good value for the money.
Great little restaurant/bar less than a block away: Moose McGillicutty's. Excellent food and nightly Happy Hour (3-7).

Great Staff
Mitch, Kapaa, HI Jul 24, 2008
The Resort Quest hotel had little going for it except for the fine staff. We were allowed to check our things in early after ... arriving with little sleep from our prior destination. The room was adequate and the bath tub was great! The AC was located directly above the headboard on one side of the bed, literally blowing air into the face area of one portion of the bed. This made it difficult to find an agreeable setting for the entire room. The location required valet parking, but that is more of a Waikiki problem then hotel flaw. I underwent surgery while on my trip and was released from the hospital on my check-out date. Again, the hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful in letting us take the time that we needed to check out, even though we were late. I can't thank them enough for how much this meant to us during this difficult time! The pool was very dissappointing! It was about the size of a hotel room with very little area to sun in....this is Hawaii after all. Finally, for the price, we felt like it was a fair deal, but it was a low frills experience that would be fine for the family that is planning on spending their time elsewhere during the day and then looking forward to returning back for a nice jacuzzi bath in the evening.

Brief Stay
Anonymous Jun 7, 2008
We stayed only one night, so the hotel was okay, but I don't think I would have enjoyed staying much longer. The room was a ... bit small for our tastes, but it was in a good location for restaurants, shopping, etc.
From here it is a short walk to everything in Waikiki.

Nice but small rooms
Ralph Feb 26, 2008
We stayed at this hotel with another couple and ended up with two types of rooms the king size bed room was very small and ... almost wall to wall furniture the two double bed room was a little larger that you could at least move around. The pool is very small so I did not see anyone using it. The location is great for places to eat, shop, and night life within walking distance. Overall a pretty nice place to stay even with the small rooms.

You have everything from fast food to nice sit down dining just a few blocks from the hotel. They also had a continental breakfast included at the hotel that was nice with bagles, sweet rolls, fresh fruit, coffee and juices.

Great for a traveller on the go
Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA Jul 10, 2007
The ResortQuest Waikiki Joy was the perfect hotel for the hawaii traveller on the go. We appreciated the fact that the hotel ... was in the heart of Waikiki and within a half block of the main shopping and entertainment areas--and because the hotel sat by itself on a much quieter side street with minor traffic. The daily continental breakfast was a major plus versus the pricey and limited breakfast dining options nearby. The rooms were more than adequate, clean, and quiet. Although parking is valet only, the hotel staff offered very expeditious and friendly service.

Needs updating very badly
judy, Minneapolis, MN Feb 16, 2007
The Waikiki Joy hotel has a very nice location. It is close to everything. The bathroom was the nicest part. It had a jazzuzi ... tub and nice tile and fixtures. The bed was comfortable and the bedding acceptable. But the carpet was filthy and the walls needed paint very badly. The furnishing were very also. I would not stay there again unless capeting and paint were cleaned and updated.
Everything to do in Waikiki is a short walk away or a quick bus ride.

A Great Hotel for the Senior Traveller
tommy Jan 25, 2007
The Joy Hotel has an excellent location only a block and a half straight down to Waikikii Beach. The staff are very helpfull ... and the buffet breakfast was certainly what seniors want. The Wi-fi did leave something to be desired but was useable. The Joy's location just half a block off the main street in relation to price makes it a very affordable hotel. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to go back next year
There is a great Irish Pub just across the street. While up the street there is a wonderfull pancake house.
