Experience a Vacation Feeling Once Again

Most folks would love to be able to experience that vacation feeling whenever they so choose, but unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to be returned to that magical place.  However, many websites can help create a wonderful trip that meets every requirement for that vacation feeling while actually on vacation.  Simply put, that means freedom from stress, anxiety, and confusion, while having the pleasure and excitement of doing what one finds fun and rejuvenating.  It should be more than just being someplace different than the humdrum of daily life; everything should feel special!

No one wants to miss out on things or waste time when moments at a dream destination are limited. Travel websites can assist with time frames and itineraries with its wide offerings of flight options, packages and cruises, thus ensuring clients of maximizing their available free hours.  Even checking the site is extremely easy and there are no “surprises” that will require more time investment either before or during one’s vacation.

Some look forward to the sensual aspects of vacation, such as the heat of the sun, the exhilaration of amusement park rides, or the feel of sand between one’s toes.  For many, the smell of the shore and cries of seagulls spell vacation feeling because they can only experience those moments while on vacation.  Others equate that vacation feeling with big city lights and noise.  Regardless of a person’s definition of what constitutes a vacation feeling, a travel website can get them there when they’d like, in a manner that is cost-effective.  Whether by air or car or cruise ship, a traveler has choices that can fit his needs or wants, and that ease of convenience starts the trip on the right foot!  Choices are available for all major cities in North America and Europe, as well as selections in other international points.

Of course, accommodations are a huge part of that vacation feeling.  Having maid service clean the bathtubs, change the sheets and remove dirty dishes can be the difference between a vacation and daily drudgery!  Travel websites offers a wide array of hotels and hotel packages to fit budgets as well as locations and schedules.  By providing the choice selections of so many providers, a traveler will not need to spend hours online, bouncing between multiple discounters for the best deal.  One stop shopping is the goal, and a travel website works to provide its customers with the most comprehensive lists of availabilities.

If the need or desire to travel at the last minute occurs, travel websites like Grab2Travel.com always has a selection of locales to choose from, at the best deals found on the internet.  Rest assured that no major provider has been overlooked, and the offerings posted are up-to-date.

Quite often, people simply forgo a trip or vacation because it’s simply too much work to check multiple sights (and possibly make phone calls) to find and secure travel arrangements.  Grab2Travel.com believes that it puts clients in that vacation state of mind from the onset, by providing the absolute best selection of current offerings in one place that’s user-friendly.  They realize many only have 5 days to experience that vacation feeling first hand, but 360 during which they can remember them.   They want to make those memories pleasant.  Allow a travel website to have a hand in future opportunities for that vacation feeling!

Taking Childrens Friends on Family Vacations

There seem to be two kinds of families in this world-those who think that vacations are a time to bond with each other, and those who think, “The more the merrier”.

Regardless of personal views, there will probably come a time when a child wants to bring a friend along on a family vacation, and it’s wise to consider this request seriously before making a commitment. (This proposal may be made earlier and more often by an only child, especially if no cousins exist.)

It is not easy for a family to live for several days in average sized accommodations as it is. Add to that someone who may be a stranger to most of the family members and there may be some discomfort.

Regardless of how pleasant and obedient the guest is, there is still the issue of children having mood swings, bouts of temper, and disagreements. It’s not always simple to deal with these issues, as most adults do not wish to discipline someone else’s child, or even their own, in front of others. However, it may be necessary.

Two preteen girls will have much different issues than two teenage boys. However, the sponsoring parents ultimately have the full responsibility of the guest child. This means knowing where they are and what they are doing, and trying to keep them from wasting money or losing possessions. For slightly older kids, it means not getting involved with romantic infatuations or being in situations that are not age-appropriate. Sometimes even the most sensible kid acquires a sense of daring and independence when away from home, which makes it harder to accept adult authority. These situations are not pleasant, as they tend to ruin everyone’s fun, the main reason most folks go on vacation in the first place.

There is also the issue of food. Kids who are vegetarians often don’t choose proper nutritional selections and will ask to eat every couple of hours. There are children whose tastes go beyond pickiness and who won’t eat anyplace or anything other than they want. Don’t be surprised by kids who have such aversion to certain items that they actually make a fuss in a restaurant when watching others eat it. Others want to indulge in habits that the family makes it a habit to avoid, such as junk food. Consequently, adults who look forward to eating when on vacation may find this pleasure diminished. This is not the opportunity to invest time or money on fancy meals. (Surprisingly, parents of child guests frequently do not send either snacks or food money with kids.)

What advantages, then, does taking a child’s friend on a family vacation offer? Well, it may improve a child’s disposition significantly, which will help them have a better time and happier memories. It will give provide a buddy to accompany them while adults talk, and someone to share physical activities with after parents tire out. A child’s friend may make the car trip seem shorter, and the entire experience more exciting, all of which cannot be measured in any terms.

Taking a child’s friend on a family vacation holds no guarantees, but if the family is willing to make compromises, it may turn out to be a good decision.

Traveling with Children in New York City

If utilizing a travel website for a family trip/vacation to NYC, it’s best to decide ahead of time if the trip will be cultural, entertaining, informational, or a mix. Don’t feel the need to do touristy activities; plan what your family will really enjoy. Be realistic with time frames, and allow one hour more than you’d expect for everything. Reconsider tours costing upwards of $50 per person-although enlightening, they take a good chunk of time and may not be worth the money, especially with young children. The same goes for Broadway shows; there is no discount, and paying over $100 per ticket may not be the best use of an entertainment budget.

Getting a hotel room with a refrigerator is worth the extra cost.  Along with storing soft drinks, water, juice and milk, refrigerators ensure a quick and easy breakfast with a little cereal. Why take an hour and pay New York prices if the kids aren’t egg/pancake/sausage eaters in the first place?  (There are at least 3 delis in every block, so don’t worry if traveling by plane and not able to carry snacks from home.)

Plan a break to rest in the hotel room before dinner to stave off the fatigue and crankiness that comes with navigating a large city within a limited timeframe. Everyone’s evening will be much more pleasant!

Try to get over fears of the subway system; it really is the fastest way to get around, especially between Midtown and lower Manhattan. There is a pass which gives a family a total of 12 rides for $20, which is a 20% discount off the regular price. (However, verify weekend service with the hotel concierge, as it may change.) Be aware that after the Metro card (it replaces tokens) is swiped, a rider has only so many seconds to get through the turnstile. Parents need to push the revolving bars, for if the child can’t or doesn’t push hard enough, it times out and that ride/fare is lost. Most importantly, make sure that upon entering the subway car, the child is beside or in front of an adult, even if they’re older. (Should  they not make it in quickly enough, they could very well be left standing on the platform as the train pulls away!)

Some restaurants do not have children’s menus and will automatically charge “sharing” prices unless every diner orders an entrée. There are only three options: order the smallest and least expensive entrees for the kids and get doggy bags, pay the sharing price and hope they eat an adult’s entrée, or go elsewhere. A visitor is better off to take the advice of locals; they will guide guests to more family-friendly establishments that are less expensive.

Remember that even an hour of walking seems to multiply when one is carrying a few pounds, and chances are visitors to NYC will be walking for several hours. Since the trip will be more fun for kids if they have their “stuff” like snacks, cameras, maps, sunglasses, etc., it’s easier if all kept in one place. Find the most lightweight nylon tote possible to stash everything in, and then streamline what is usually carried in purses and/or wallets. This may not seem that important, but the less one carries, the less tired one becomes. After about 5 hours, anyone will be glad they left the notebook, cosmetic bag, and big, heavy wallet back in the hotel safe.

Wear comfortable shoes, and enjoy the Big Apple!

Last Minute Romantic Getaway Cruises

Sometimes half the romance is in the surprise. Sweep your romantic someone off their feet with a surprise cruise for two – leaving this weekend. Cruise vacations are among the most romantic of all getaways – and by shopping for last minute booking deals, you can take advantage of price breaks to get your romantic vacation as much as half off the regular price.

Picture yourself strolling on the promenade deck hand in hand. The stars above are a twinkling ceiling of light. The ocean stretches for miles and miles. It’s just you and your love, dancing to the strains of the dance band from the ballroom below. Romance and cruises have always been synonymous. A cruise ship is its own little world where anything can happen. You’re away from the everyday, out on the open sea and there’s magic everywhere you look. Cruises combine the allure of the ocean with glittering entertainment, exotic locales and fine dining to serve up an all-in-one vacation of a lifetime.

Most people plan cruises months in advance, and the cruise lines like it that way. Unfortunately for the cruise lines, people cancel at the last minute, or they simply didn’t book the entire ship. When that happens, they’ll offer special last minute savings deals in order to fill up the passenger list. If you can travel on the spur of the moment, those last minute deals can get you the bargain of a lifetime on a romantic tour.

Flexibility is the key to finding the best cruise vacation deals. If you need a specific departure and return date – say for an anniversary or honeymoon cruise – you’re better off booking in advance to be sure you’ll find a cruise for those dates. The cruise lines won’t start discounting until about a month before sailing date, and when they do it will be for available rooms. In addition, if you’re looking for a cruise on short notice, you may end up having to travel to get to the ship’s departure point.

Of course, booking a last minute cruise may take a little skill and finesse on your part. There are so many sites on the net boasting that they’ll get you the cheapest prices on a last minute cruise vacation that you could spend weeks just surfing from one to the next, looking for the best deal, the Holy Grail of romantic cruises. There is an easier way. Grab2Travel.com is a new service that brings together all the best deals from over 100 different sources – and they include the big guys in their search offerings. Grab2Travel.com makes it easy to find cruises departing this weekend – or in the next month – with a special ‘last minute’ section that lists all the last minute cruise and vacation deals available. You can also use the site’s SmartSearch option to check all last minute cruise deals by date at other sites, and save yourself the trouble of entering the cruise and personal details for each site.

So why wait? Check out the last minute travel deals and cruise specials available through Grab2Travel.com and wow your sweetheart with balmy breezes, exciting night life and romantic, candlelight dinners on deck or at the captain’s table.

Last Minute Romance Better in the Bahamas

Does your love life show a distinct lack of spontaneity? Do you need something to spark up the old fire in your relationship? Do you want to prove to your special someone that there is too a romantic bone in your body? Exercise your spontaneity and romance with a last minute getaway weekend at a romantic resort in the Bahamas!

Why the Bahamas? What could be more romantic than sipping cool drinks on the hot sands. dancing the night away in one of Nassau's glittering nightclubs and waking to the sound of waves lapping at the shore outside your bungalow hideaway? Romance and the Bahamas go hand in hand ' strolling through village markets, walking on the beach at sunset or splashing into the ultramarine waters of a sheltered bay. As the ads say ' it's better in the Bahamas.

The Bahamas are a chain of islands off the southeastern coast of North America. The two main islands, Paradise Island and Grand Bahama Island, are glittering jewels in the chain, developed with tourism in mind. You'll find luxury resort hotels, spas, cosmopolitan night life and dining, and the islands' trademark smiles and open, welcoming arms. You can shop at open air markets or exclusive boutiques, and enjoy just about any tropical activity you've ever imagined. But that's just the start of the Bahamas experience. The beautiful chain includes over 700 islands spread over 100,000 square miles of ocean. Of these, a dozen plus the two major islands, serve as hubs for the rest. And though those numbers sound daunting, the truth is that in the Bahamas, nothing is truly distant from anything else. You can spend your days on a remote, sandy private beach in a tiny cottage, and your nights dancing in the most cosmopolitan of nightclubs and casinos. The only limit is your own desires.

Romantic Things to Do in the Bahamas
1. Keep your relationship young forever with a drink from the Fountain of Youth on Bimini.
2. Hire a glass-bottomed boat and tour the reefs. Tours depart daily from Government Dock in George Town, Exuma.
3. Have an island ' mostly ' to yourself. Mayaguana is the most remote of the Bahama islands. With a population of 312 residents, you'll have the beaches to yourself. Just think of all the fun you can have!
4. Declare your love for each other in the cathedral like Caves of Crooked Island.
5. Feed each other land crabs at the Friday night Mini Crab Fest at The Churchill Garden Bar.
6. Explore the beautiful world Under the Sea on and off Andros Island. The largest and least explored of the Bahamas, Andros offers a wealth of diving experiences. Hunt for treasure together among the wrecked ships, or explore the world's third largest barrier reef.
7. View the Bahamas from their highest point. Hike up to the top of Mt. Alvernia on Cat Island and soak up the peace and beauty of the Hermitage built by Father Jerome.
8. Create a very special fragrance ' and name it for your love. The Perfume Factory on Grand Bahama Island offers a unique tour where you can create your own signature fragrance, bottle it and name it.
9. Gamble on your love at the Crystal Palace Casino, Nassau's glittering 24 hour casino.

Last minute doesn't have to be a hassle in today's internet world to get the best deals to Bahamas.

Window or Aisle – Airline seat tips

It’s a fact of life – nobody wants the middle seat, although somebody has to take it. On today’s typically overcrowded planes, one of your main concerns when flying is the seat you will be occupying, and how comfortable it will be. Most of the airlines can book tickets and assign seats almost a year in advance.

When it comes to window or aisle seats, it’s really a matter of personal choice, as both have their advantages. On an overnight flight or a longer flight, it’s easier to sleep in the window seat. You can lean against the wall and you won’t be disturbed by the person next to you getting out of their seat. At the same time, you may have to disturb them – or climb over them - if you are in the window seat and need to get out.

If you have the aisle seat, you can stretch your legs out into the aisle itself although you should be careful of the drinks cart! Claustrophobic passengers or nervous flyers may feel more comfortable in an aisle or window seat – again, it’s largely a matter of personal preference.

One strategy that two people traveling together can try is to ask for the window and the aisle if the aircraft is the type that has three seats across in a row. As nobody actually wants the middle seat, you may be lucky and have an empty seat between you.

Airline reservations agents tend to assign seats at the front first, so this strategy tends to be more successful if you take seats at the back of the plane – on a wide bodied aircraft, you may even be lucky enough to get a row of five seats to yourself.

Apart from the all-important window or aisle question, there are some other things to consider when requesting a seat. You may want to have a view outside, so a seat clear of the wing is important. You may want to have a good view of one of the movie screens or sit next to a power port if you want to use your laptop in flight.

Some seats on the plane are highly sought after – the exit row seats, in the row or rows where the emergency exit door is. These seats have extra legroom although you can usually only get them if you are an elite flyer with the airline, or are traveling on a full fare ticket. You also have to be over 15 years of age.

Bulkhead seats – the seats at the front of the plane with the bulkhead or wall in front - are also desirable. You don’t have anyone with a seat in front of you to lean their seat back into your knees, and some aircraft offer bassinets for babies, which can only be used if seated in the bulkhead row.

And if all else fails – and especially if you are the person stuck in the middle seat – always ask to change your seat on the day of departure when you check in. Airlines routinely overbook flights to account for the “no-show” factor and there are always some seats held back specifically to be assigned at check in. Hopefully it will be someone else in that dreaded middle seat – and not you.

Packing for Kids on a Cruise

Cruises are becoming an increasingly popular vacation choice for families. There are many cruise lines that cater to families. They offer child care for the little ones, clubs filled with activities to keep school age children occupied all day long, and teen lounges where older kids can play on gaming systems, use the Internet, listen to music and watch movies to their heart's delight.

With all of these amenities specifically geared for kids, it would seem that parents shouldn't need to worry much about bringing anything more than a few changes of clothing for their children. However, the child care rooms, kid's clubs and teen lounges aren't open 24/7, and kids do end up spending down time in their rooms with their families. When packing for kids on a cruise, there are many things that parents need to remember to bring in addition to their clothing.

For Infants and Toddlers:

  • Diapers, swim diapers and wipes (pack more than you think you'll need – you may be able to purchase them in the cruise ship's store, but you'll pay a hefty premium)
  • Pacifiers – bring a few extra
  • Ziploc type bags to dispose of diapers – the trash in your room is only disposed of once a day
  • Plastic bottles/sippy cups
  • Hand sanitizing lotion
  • Port a crib; booster seat for dining; stroller for on board or off board excursions – the cruise line may provide these or rent them, find out before hand
  • Night light
  • Disposable bibs
  • Sun hat
  • Children's sunscreen
  • Prescription and over the counter medications
  • Thermometer
  • Band-Aids and antibacterial ointment
  • Favorite stuffed animals, books, coloring books, crayons and toys
  • Inflatable swim aids
  • One or two more outfits than you think you'll need
  • Portable dvd player, extra batteries, and movies

For Grade School Children – At this age, children should have a hand in the packing of their own entertainment items:

  • Night light
  • Sun hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Children's sunscreen
  • Prescription and over the counter medications
  • Thermometer
  • Bandaids and antibacterial ointment
  • Favorite stuffed animals, books, coloring books, crayons and toys
  • Travel board games
  • Inflatable swim aids
  • One or two more outfits than you think you'll need
  • Portable dvd player, extra batteries, and movies
  • Portable gaming systems such as Game Boys or PSP's
  • Portable music devices such as MP3 players or CD players
  • A disposable camera or two to allow kids to take pictures of whatever they want.

For Teenagers – At this age, teens should handle the responsibility of packing for themselves. Help them to make a packing list so they don't forget anything important and check their bags once they are packed:

  • Protective sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Prescription and over the counter medications
  • Thermometer
  • Bandaids and antibacterial ointment
  • Favorite books and travel board games
  • Portable dvd player, extra batteries, and movies
  • Portable gaming systems such as Game Boys or PSP's
  • Portable music devices such as MP3 players or CD players
  • A digital or disposable camera to allow teens to take pictures of whatever they want
  • Cell phone – especially if you will be going on excursions off the ship

Making sure that you have these extras will ensure that you have supplies in case of an emergency, protection from the sun, and plenty to entertain your kids on the ship.

How to Find the Best Travel Deals

If you're looking to find the best travel deals when planning your next vacation, the Internet is your greatest and most convenient resource, offering a wealth of information right at your fingertips-including a wide array of great travel packages and deals, helping you to save a substantial amount of money simply by booking online.

Most everyone wants to save money while vacation planning, and with some time, careful planning, and thorough online research, you'll be able to find the best travel deals, and make your vacation plans accordingly.

If there is somewhere in particular you would like to go, plan in advance as much as possible. Use the Internet to research airline ticket prices and discounts for that destination, accommodation options, as well as attractions and facilities, and find out what kind of deals they have. Some people find that using a very targeted search (i.e., specific destination) helps them find the best travel deals.

However, if you have a more open mind as far as destinations go, you may be able to find even better travel deals. Using this method, you look for what types of special deals and discounts are being offered for various travel destinations-domestically and internationally-and then you make your decision accordingly.

One great vacation money-saving tip is to plan your vacation for the "off-season"-you are almost guaranteed to find better travel deals-for airfare, accommodations, rentals, and activities-if you go this route. Many vacationers actually prefer booking their holiday for the off-season for additional reasons, as well, such as avoiding the crowds and tourist craze.

Timing is important in another respect. Sometimes, if you book online well in advance, you can save a lot of money; on the other hand, with some travel companies and their online deals, it pays to book much later, where you can snag last-minute deals.

Sometimes, you can save money by researching all-inclusive travel package deals online. It certainly is the more convenient route to planning your vacation, and it's true that same all-inclusive plans are money-savers to a certain extent.

However, many people don't know that by booking everything separately-flight, accommodation, rentals, activities, insurance-it really is possible to save a great deal of money; in fact, sometimes significantly more than if you would go with a travel agent and an all-inclusive package.

Booking all the elements of your vacation online and separately can in fact be the most cost-effective thing you do with your travel plans. The Internet allows you to quickly and conveniently compare the costs and discounts offered by hotels and airlines, so you can find and secure the best price. It certainly is worth your time (and money) to go online and research the costs involved in book separately rather than going with a package deal in order to find the best travel deals.

Besides booking individually, make sure you take the time to do enough cost comparison online. Every online travel company will claim they have the best travel deals you can find on the Internet, but you are the one that is going to have to take the time to find out who really has the best deals and prices. The other thing to keep in mind when researching online travel deals is that a particular travel company may have great deals for domestic destinations, but not for overseas. So don't assume that because one company has the best deal in one area, that it necessarily will in another. Research, compare, and research and compare some more.
